EAVision Advanced Mapping, cloud features
EAVision provides Advanced Management options for the Drone Service Provider and other Agriculture Professionals. Cloud features allow for the management of Pilot lists, operational records, field details, to name a few. Today we are going to introduce you to one of the cloud features. - Aerial Map Uploading.
With the J100 EAVision has added the feature to map fields within the controller. While this is a great feature, there will be times where either the size of the field, the level of detail or both, requires the use of a higher resolution map. Also having access to maps that have been pre produced allows for advanced pre planning. We have always found value in as much preparation as possible. Our productivity on the day is usually directly proportional to the amount of planning.

EAVision Aerial Map Upload
EAVision Advanced Mapping features the use of the Aerial Map Upload cloud option. It is a feature that we use in a number of our more complex jobs. Whether it be for the high resolution requirement, large operational area or both, the ability to upload maps and use them for advanced flight planning has been a key part of our work process for some of our more complex jobs.
The maps can be produced with any camera drone and images processed into a map using your favourite mapping software. (we use Pix4D but there are many alternatives). If you don't have mapping software then here at EAVision Australia we can produce these maps for you as part of our service to our customers. All you have to do is upload the images to us via our data-set upload tool. Its worth pointing out that the level of detail achieved will be determined by a number of factors including the camera, flight height and the number of images. We can help with advice in this area.
Once the map is upload, there are a number of ways to use it for flight planning. You can either use the browser interface (laptop, etc) or as a base map on the controller. (or both). Personally I prefer to do most of the work on the laptop or desktop and then just fine tune as required on the controller. But the key here is that the information that you are using is both higher resolution and old as old as the data capture date. Much better than google maps.
Cloud mapping
Using the cloud interface planning plots defining obstacles and no spray areas can all be defined with reference to high resolution detail. In addition other flight planning features like flight legs and spot spraying options are available.
Pre-Planning these parameters and being able to communicate the plan with the client is both a significant time saver and provides a increased level of service to the customer with a clear outline of the work to be done.
Cloud to controller updates
All planning actions completed in the cloud are shown on the controller in real time and vice versa. Edit plot details in the cloud and it shows up on the controller. Edit in the field on the controller and it will show up in the cloud. This feature is ideal if you are managing remote teams, allowing for the collaboration between you and your remote team.
(**requires controller internet connection**)
Multiple Flight Plan Options
Most of the time the best option for flight planning is to allow for the J100 to build the plan automatically based on your set parameters.
However you have the choice to make your own plans, whether they are in the form of a hand drawn route or a spot spray plan.
Features, features
We have only just touched on the surface on the amount of features available for EAVision Advanced Mapping and flight planning using both the Cloud and the Controller. The J100 has added a number of items to the feature list. As a result we are re-building our Public Knowledge Base from scratch and will be available soon. All customers receive initial training and on going support via our Customer Knowledge Base and online support system.
